Awards season is officially here! I love seeing all of the glitz and glamour (and makeup! ) on the red carpet – my favourite look of the Golden Globes this past weekend was Olivia Wilde.
Olivia looked absolutely STUNNING with velvet-matte skin, soft nude lips, and a unique burgundy smoky eye that really made her green eyes sparkle!
Super-talented makeup artist Jo Baker did this look on Olivia (LOVE Jo’s work!) – here’s how I would recreate it!
SKIN – After your usual foundation & concealer, buff Flawless Finishing Powder all over the face – this will lock in your base while giving an airbrushed, matte effect.
EYES – After priming the lids (try Eye Bright Primer for budge-proof shadow), line top & bottom lashes with Endless Silky Eye Pen in BlackNoir. Make sure to get as close to roots of lashes as possible, and line inner corner as well for a smoldering effect. Use a fluffy brush to dust a petal shade from Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Plum Quartz all over lids and just under the eye. Then, take the same brush and buff on a burgundy shade close to the lash line, diffusing upward and outward. Use a smaller, more dense brush to surround the eye with more of the same burgundy shade, smudging into the black liner that you applied earlier. Finish off with a cream shade to highlight the browbone & along cheekbones as well for a bit of extra glow. Add 1-2 coats of Large Lash Mascara in Bold Black.
LIPS – Smooth on Shea Butter Lip Balm in Honey Nectar; dab a bit onto apples of the cheeks as well for a hint of warmth!
Can’t wait for all of the other amazing makeup looks this year – stay tuned to see my favourites!
